Description: Roman Chamomile is another essential oil that makes our 'Top 10' list. This oil has a thick and herbal scent that is similar to German Chamomile, but differs in that it's 'warmer', less earthy, and smells pleasantly of apples. This particular Chamomile is also a favorite among parents, as it's one of the safest, most soothing, and most gentle oils available out there for children (amongst other reasons).
Roman Chamomile is another friend to our skin, as it's known to be effective in treating ailments such as dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, and surgical scars. It is also often considered for use when attempting to sooth arthritic inflammation, gout, muscular pain, and symptoms associated with menstrual cycles and menopause.
Aside from being safe for babies and children, this oil is highly effective when treating teething pains and toothaches (as a compress on the face). It may also prove useful in providing relief of other common 'youthful' ailments such as basic digestive issues and jaundice.
This Chamomile is well renowned for its overall sedating and calming properties as well (in both children and adults). It's highly effective in calming hyperactive states, reducing insomnia, and curbing irritability. It is often used to subdue feelings of anxiety, anger, worry, panic, and fear. Many believe it can help in the obtainment of patience & peace as well.
Contraindications: Avoid during 1st trimester of pregnancy. Incredibly safe and gentle for babies, but proper dilution (1% or less) is strongly recommended. Strongly scented, use sparingly.
