Clary Sage Essential Oil (wildcrafted)

Clary sage essential oil is a warming, sedative oil. It may make an excellent nerve tonic and can help induce feelings of mild euphoria in some individuals. It is thought to enhance one's ability to dream. Clary sage oil can be used as a tonic for one's overall well-being, and is ideally applied on a regular basis in baths or as a perfume. One of the many chemical constituents in clary sage is sclareol, which has an estrogen-like structure that may contribute to the health of tissues and cells.

Recommended Uses

Clary sage is known to assist with cramps, depression, excessive perspiration, fertility, hormonal imbalance, hot flashes, insomnia, menopausal problems, menstrual problems, muscular fatigue, PMS and stress. It may be antispasmodic and used as a nerve tonic. Emotionally, clary sage may aid in treating anxiety, depression and post-natal depression. It is known to be a calming, mentally restorative, sedative oil that may soothe the mind from worry.

Scent Profile

Clary sage is a middle note. It is sweet and herbaceous with floral undertones.

Blending

Blends well with bergamot, black pepper, cardamom, chamomile, coriander, cypress, geranium, grapefruit, jasmine, juniper, lavandin, lavender, lemon, lime, mandarin, patchouli, rose, sandalwood, spikenard, tangerine and tea tree.

Contraindications / Safety

Avoid use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Overuse of clary sage (and many other essential oils) can result in headache or dizziness. It may also raise blood pressure if taken in excessive dosages.
