“Our mission of sharing the healing power of plants is intrinsically linked to helping to heal our planet. We strongly believe in the power of environmental action and strive to carry out our mission in ways that give back to the earth.“
- Harmonic Arts
In our previous blog post, we discussed the ground-breaking products this family-owned business crafts, the high standards of environmental responsibility Harmonic Arts holds themselves to, and how they make every day a mission to create accessibility and share the healing power of plant medicine. You can read more in detail on why we adore Harmonic Arts in our previous blog, “Why We Love Harmonic Arts: Teas, Syrups & Elixirs”. We’re back with part two of some of our favourite products, focusing on the mushroom concentrates line.
Mushroom powders & tinctures
These mushroom powders and tinctures are exceptionally easy and convenient to add to your day-to-day life! We love adding them to our favourite beverages and recipes like baked goods, hot or iced drinks, and even sweet treats. Harmonic Arts prepares these concentrates by using the fruiting body of the mushroom, which is the reproductive organ of the fungus, and the Mycelium ( mai-see-lee-uhm ), which is the vegetative part of the fungus.
What is the difference between powders and tinctures?
The mushroom powder has no fillers or preservatives and contains the mushroom fruiting body. The tinctures combine the fruiting body & mycelium, extracted with alcohol and water to increase bioavailability.
Here’s a quick guide to the mushrooms used in the tinctures and powders:
Chaga: aka “King Of Mushrooms” has been traditionally used to support immune health, intestinal issues and to address abnormal tissue growth. Chaga is also known to boost immunity and has many antioxidant properties.
Cordyceps (kor-dee-seps): Support your energy levels with this stamina boosting mushroom. This product is fantastic because it is an easily accessible source of antioxidants that help protect cells against oxidative damage caused by free radicals. Cordyceps is often used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to help tonify and replenish the lungs & kidneys and resolve phlegm.
Lion’s Mane: In Chinese Folklore, Monks and warriors would use Lion’s Mane to build concentration & focus. It was known to: “Promote nerves of steel and the memory of a lion.” Incorporate this product into your daily routine for: Focus, memory & nerve support.
Reishi (ray-shee): The benefits of this “Mushroom of Spiritual Potency” have been studied in China for over 2000 years! Often used to support the immune system, it is also an adaptogen known to enhance energy, and resistance to stress.
Turkey Tail: This mushroom is one of the most researched fungi in the world! Turkey tail is used in traditional Chinese medicine to fortify the spleen to drain dampness, clear toxic heat and is often used in China and Japan for immune and digestive imbalances.
5 Mushroom: This concentrate combines all 5 of the above world’s top superfood mushrooms, which supports full-body harmony.
