Make This Easy Candy Cane Whipped Body Butter
‘Tis the season once again… for treating both yourself and others! Especially if you're a Calgarian fighting our winter dryness, your skin may need some extra care and attention as we wind closer to the cold and snowy months. With this super cute holiday gift-making recipe, we’ve got you covered! Follow the steps below—using ingredients all available in your needed quantities through our in-store raw materials bulk refillery or online—to make a quick and easy no-heat whipped shea body butter that is naturally scented with mint, orange, cinnamon and vanilla notes.
This recipe is adapted from a blog by LovingEssentialOils.com and is designed to gently hydrate and soothe dry skin while also providing a wintery candy cane scent:
INGREDIENTS
- 100 ml (½ cup) Refined Shea butter (this can be substituted for mango butter or raw shea butter)
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) Calendula-Infused Oil
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) Jojoba Oil
- 2 mls (40 drops) Candy Cane Synergy Essential Oil (can be substituted for peppermint essential oil)
- 5 drops Vanilla Fragrance Oil
- 250 ml (8 oz) glass mason jar
DIRECTIONS
1. Place shea butter in a mixing bowl.
2. Add carrier oils.
3. Add Candy Cane essential oil.
4. Add Vanilla fragrance oil.
5. Mash all ingredients together with a fork.
6. Mix with a handheld mixer for about 3 minutes until the oils are whipped together and fluffy.
7. Transfer to the mason jar and seal.
Gift to friends and family, or yourself (we don’t judge!). To use, simply take a small scoop of butter and apply it to the skin as desired. Best if used within 6 months of making. Store in a cool environment and out of the sun.
