Seasonal: Floor Team

We’re seeking to hire bright and eager seasonal floor staff to help us deliver stellar customer experience throughout the holiday season. The successful candidates will be community focused, hardworking team players, and have a passion for sustainability.

These seasonal positions will offer temporary employment at approximately 15-25 hours per week from September – December 31, with the possibility of contract extension. Availability MUST include Saturdays AND Sundays.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR...

  • Ensuring all our customers have a positive, meaningful, and memorable customer experience
  • Assisting customers in choosing products and refilling containers with bulk goods
  • Handling cash and working with our in-store POS system
  • Keeping the store neat and tidy & following our cleaning lists and procedures
  • Staying up to date with new product offerings and product information
  • Restocking products
  • Picking online orders for curbside pickup, local delivery and shipping

General Required Skills / Awesomeness:

  • You are flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • You are able to multi-task and prioritize task lists
  • You are available Fridays and weekends with flexibility during the week
  • You have the physical capability for full (up to 8 hrs) shifts on foot (walking & standing) and to lift some heavy stuff! This position requires repetitive actions including bending and lifting up to 50lb. We have many stairs and require a lot of lifting to restock during the day.

Workshop Instructor

Are you energetic and outgoing? Love to teach others new things? Do you have an aptitude for public speaking? Are you an organized self-starter who loves DIY?

The Apothecary in Inglewood has been a go-to location for DIY workshops since 2016 and we are looking to grow our workshop instructor team!

We’re seeking to hire a flexible workshop instructor to help us deliver stellar workshops to all ages in our very own classroom on the second floor of our shop. The successful candidate will be a quick learner, able to teach groups of up to 20, and have a passion for sustainability and DIY products.

This position will include teaching 1 – 6 workshops per month, including onsite standard workshops and off-site private workshops. This is a flexible position, where our Workshop Coordinator communicates with our instructors to create the workshop schedules. Availability MUST include most Fridays, most weekends, and some weekday evenings each month.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR...

  • Setting up and taking down any workshops you are instructing, including cleaning up any dishes, sweeping the floor and resetting the room
  • Instructing workshops on-site in our classroom
  • Instructing outreach workshops off-site and getting to and from these workshops
  • Keeping the classroom neat and tidy & following our cleaning procedures
  • Communicating with the Workshop Coordinator on any workshop related issues, concerns, and scheduling.
  • REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & ASSETS

    • Highschool diploma or equivalent
    • Previous teaching experience is considered an asset
    • DIY lover! Previous experience with DIY bath and body products is an asset (but not required)
    • Strong communication skills and team-oriented attitude
    • Enthusiastic, creative, and confident
    • Aromatherapy enthusiast
    • Must have a valid car / driver’s license
    • Be able to work most Fridays, most weekends, and some evenings each month
