This essential oil is probably most commonly used for its potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. These traits make it ideal for use as a muscle relaxant, pain reliever, and it is able to provide relief from most forms of rheumatism. It's shown to be effective in addressing tendinitis, headaches, migraines, and may also bring relief to those suffering from carpel tunnel syndrome. It stimulates the liver, assists in the purifying of the blood, and is noted to be effective in treating acne (though 0.5% or less is recommended for facial care).
Wintergreen is noted to be a mental stimulant, and may help to uplift your mood while relaxing any tension. Energetically, it is said to be able to open, influence, and raise the awareness of ones senses.
It should be noted that Wintergreen is not an everyday or 'everyone' oil, and we strongly recommend being aware of the contraindications it carries. That said, any risks associated with Wintergreen are quite low when guidelines are properly followed.
