The essential oils we refer to as "precious" are those that require large quantities of plant material, and/or come from rarer plants, and/or undergo special distillation methods to produce the oil. This makes these oils more rare and costly. Precious essential oils are highly prized and have been used as perfumes and for various healing modalities by virtually every known civilization since the dawn of human history.
